[orbit-user] Problem with loading Image

Hi Aaron,

Nodeagent (nodehandler client) is needed if you want to use nodehandler for controlling experiments but it has nothing to do with the boot process. Looking at console during the boot process as Ali suggested will give you an idea of what is going on (as well as give you access to the node even if you have misconfigured ethX as Haris pointed out). You might also want to look at script post.sh that is in root's home directory on any of the stock images as to what should be done before you save the image (it will also reduce size of your image).

Hope this helps,

Ivan.

Yes we are turning that on. omf stat shows powered on as well.

Just to give more details, we are trying to compile a new kernel
2.6.16 and boot from it.

We took care of three important things listed on the Orbit website
while compiling the new kernel:

     * a serial console @9600,8,n,1 on the first serial port (I am
assuming that we only have to include the option in grubs menu.lst
console=ttyS0,9600n8 .. after selecting the option of serial port in
configuration of new kernel)

     * driver support for 2 Marvell gigabit network card

     * and dhcp on the 2nd wired interface (dhcp client ON by default )

Is there anything we have to do with nodehandler client or something..
due to which it is not able to ssh. Are we missing anything on eth1.

Thanks,

Aaron
